Vestas Chosen for 244 MW of Wind Turbines

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Vestas is still on top in the wind turbine industry. The company is supplying 23 units of V80-2.0 MW wind turbines for the Changkong project in Taiwan, and an order for 120 units of the V82-1.65 MW wind turbine for the Maple Ridge Wind Farm in upstate New York. The Changkong order was placed by the national utility Taiwan Power Corporation, and comprises delivery of turbines in March 2006, supervision of installation and commissioning as well as a two-year service and maintenance agreement. When commissioned, the wind power plant will be the second largest wind power plant in Taiwan. Shipment of the Maple Ridge development, which is a partnership between Zilkha Renewable Energy and PPM Energy, is scheduled for the summer of 2005, and includes a five-year service and maintenance contract. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has said that the Maple Ridge project is the largest of five renewable energy generators selected for the first phase of the New York State’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) Program.
