GTAT polysilicon reactors integrate AEG PS power supply

GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT) will integrate AEG Power Solutions (AEG PS) Thyrobox M power supply systems into its turnkey SDR CVD reactors for polysilicon manufacturing.

September 8, 2011 – BUSINESS WIRE — GT Advanced Technologies Inc. will integrate AEG Power Solutions (AEG PS, Amsterdam:3WP) Thyrobox M power supply systems into its turnkey SDR series chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reactors for polysilicon manufacturing. The contract agreement is one of the largest in AEG PS’s history.

AEG PS’ power systems will be integrated onto GTAT’s reactors for production of ultra pure polysilicon material. Thyrobox M delivers advanced process monitoring capabilities, a 0.95 power factor, and more than 99% energy efficiency. It has a modular, compact design; depending on the reactor type, the footprint is about 25% smaller than previous Thyrobox generations, and up to 70% smaller than competing products. Costs for installation, commissioning, and maintenance, and building costs, are reduced.
