Green Mountain Power Receives Environmental Recognition

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Green Mountain Power was recognized by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and the Vermont Small Business Development Center as an Environmental Partner in the Vermont Business Environmental Partnership for excellent environmental management practices. Green Mountain Power has one of the “greenest” energy portfolios of all power companies in the nation, with more than 40 percent of its energy coming from renewable sources such as hydro, wood and wind. It uses hybrid and low-emission vehicles in its fleet, and subscribes to vehicle-idling guidelines to minimize emissions. Green Mountain Power uses a 20 percent biodiesel mix in its larger vehicles.
