enXco Completes Kansas Wind Energy Facility

Escondido, California [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The construction of the Spearville Wind Energy Facility, built for Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L) about 15 miles northeast of Dodge City, Kansas, is complete ahead of schedule and despite being hit by a tornado, announced enXco, Inc., an affiliate of EdF Energies Nouvelles and an operations and maintenance (O&M) third party provider for windfarms. Capable of producing 100.5 megawatts (MW) of electricity, KCP&L’s Spearville project, which consists of 67 GE 1.5-MW turbines, using 77-meter (m) rotors and 80-m towers, will be operated and maintained by enXco, which provides services on more than 500 MW of the GE 1.5-MW turbines nationwide.
