March 4, 2011 – BUSINESS WIREEnphase Energy, micro-inverter maker for solar photovoltaics systems, launched operations in France and Italy. The CA-based company is planning to bring PV system optimization and simplified installation to the European market. Enphase Energy has chosen the Rhone-Alpes for its location, naming Olivier Jacques, GM France and Benelux, to head development.

Paul Nahi, CEO of Enphase Energy expects design and manufaturing expertise gained in North America, as well as a network of installation partners, will enable the company to gain a foothold in Europe’s solar photovoltaic market.

According to the study “Global Market Analysis Microinveter 2010” iSuppli, Europe is the world’s largest market for photovoltaic power generation. The region could produce several gigawatts of solar energy in next 5 years. France, Italy and the Benelux countries, who develop more and more solar systems for commercial, industrial or residential, should quickly adopt micro-inverters as an effective alternative to centralized UPS systems, Enphase notes.

Jacques Olivier, CEO of Enphase Energy France and Benelux, will be responsible for implementing the regional strategy of the company and the development of the local team and distribution channel. He joined Enphase with 20 years experience in high technology companies. Before Enphase, he was director for France and Southern Europe Director Distribution/HVAC Danfoss MC and CEO of Solar Total France, the largest solar contractor in Europe.

“Today, the industry is focused on new levels of performance and simplicity for its facilities, micro-inverters already meet the market interest for residential as well as commercial solar installations, and even industrial plants. Our subsidiary based in the French Valley Solar (Rhone-Alpes) will be well positioned for France and the Benelux countries where our technology has enormous potential,” he said.

Enphase Energy provides management systems for solar energy markets for individuals and professionals. The proposed system consists of high-performance micro-inverters, Web gateway communication and a software interface for monitoring and performance analysis. Learn more at www.enphaseenergy.com
