Conergy Signs 1.7-MW Solar PV Deal

Conergy Italy has reached an agreement with Fiere di Parma Spa to install a 1.7-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) system, which will be fully integrated on to the roof of the Parma Trade Fair building. The project had been included as part of a plan for a renovation of the fairgrounds.

The PV system will include 23,121 FS-275 thin film modules from First Solar installed on the approximately 17,000 m² of roof space. The project will use the IPG 300K six-phase inverter from Conergy. The plant, with total power of 1.734-MW, will be installed after removal complete disposal of the asbestos roof.

The photovoltaic system will be connected to the electricity grid and energy produced will be used mainly by the Fair of Parma, with the surplus fed into the grid. The plant will be monitored by the Conergy SmartControl system, allowing continuous monitoring and remote use. It is estimated that the photovoltaic system will produce 1,892 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity per year.
