Acciona Signs Wind Deal With EDP

Acciona Windpower and EDP Renovaveis have signed a wind turbine supply deal for up to 782 megawatts (MW) of capacity over the next three years. The contract specifies the supply of 382.5 MW for the period covering 2009-2011 and could be extended by a further 400 MW under the terms of the agreement.

The 1.5-MW wind turbines are slated to be installed in wind parks in North America and Europe, Acciona said in a statement.

The contract, in addition to the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of the wind turbines, allows for flexibility when choosing the turbine model and class by EDP Renov√°veis, an EDP group company that carries out wind power development projects through its subsidiary NEO.
