The electric industry is in the midst of an exciting and uncertain transformation: data centers and AI are increasing the demand for new generation, grid upgrades, and new solutions. At the same time, utilities are grappling with grid component supply chain constraints, transportation electrification, cybersecurity threats, and more.
DTECH – Data Centers and AI and DTECH – Midwest have both opened their “call for content.” We invite industry experts, researchers, policymakers and innovators to submit their proposals and share their knowledge, experiences and insights at these important events.
DTECH – Data Centers and AI
Access to power has become the key driver of AI and data center growth, prompting the need for new solutions among utilities, developers and other stakeholders. This demand growth will test grid reliability, requiring new ways of collaboration and policy structures. DTECH Data Centers and AI lives at this intersection of energy and digital infrastructure, exploring the strategies necessary to navigate power constraints, project delays and the increasing demand for sustainable, flexible solutions. Industry executives and thought leaders will discuss how AI is transforming the utility landscape, from operations to load management. How can utilities both manage AI demand, while utilizing its revolutionary tools?
We are seeking dynamic and engaging presentations, panel discussions and case studies that explore a wide range of topics related to Data Centers and AI. All proposals should primarily appeal to each of our key stakeholder groups: data center developers and operators, power producers, utilities and regulators.
Session submissions are due by December 6, 2024, by 11:59 PM EST. Late submissions will not be accepted, no exceptions. All submitters will be notified of their acceptance status by January 2025.
Don’t miss this opportunity to contribute to the advancement of clean energy and play a crucial role in shaping the future of DER interconnection. We look forward to your participation at DTECH – Data Centers and AI in Spring 2025!

DTECH – Midwest
Midwest utilities face challenges from extreme weather, aging infrastructure, and the need to integrate renewable energy while maintaining grid reliability. Regulatory pressures to decarbonize add complexity, as utilities transition from fossil fuels to cleaner alternatives. They also grapple with supply chain issues, labor shortages, and cybersecurity risks. Balancing modernization efforts with affordable pricing, especially in both urban and rural areas, remains a significant challenge for the region.
We are seeking dynamic and engaging presentations, panel discussions and case studies that explore a wide range of topics important to the utility industry. All proposals should primarily appeal to each of our key stakeholder groups: utilities, EPCs, regulators, and consultants. We are particularly interested in technical content featuring/focusing on municipal and cooperative utilities.
