New additions are coming to the community-owned Norderhof wind farm in the town of Galmsbàƒ¼ll in the North Frisia region on the German North Sea coast: six more Siemens wind turbines will raise the generating capacity of this onshore wind power plant to 37.7 MW.
The new installations with 3.6 MW each will be erected in the late summer of 2014. The extension is scheduled to go on line in September 2014. The contract also includes maintenance of the wind farm for a 20-year period.
By choosing Siemens’ Model SWT-3.6-120 turbine, the farm operator has opted for world’s best-selling offshore wind turbine. The coastal location and erection with a hub height of 89.5 meters will permit optimum energy yield. The first section of the Norderhof wind farm went online in 2007.
Generating more than 16 MW from seven Siemens Model SWT-2.3-93 wind turbine units, Norderhof I has been delivering renewable energy since 2007.
