ROCHESTER, NY, July 11, 2002 — Microwave Data Systems (MDS), a provider of wireless networking solutions with applications in the SCADA/telemetry, telecommunications, and online transactional markets, on Tuesday announced the approval of the MDS iNET 900™ radio by the Associacao NCC Certificacoes do Brasil (NCC) for use in Brazil.
The iNET 900 received the Certificate of Technical Conformity for Telecommunications Products according to the terms and regulations issued by the Brazilian National Agency of Telecommunications (ANATEL). ANATEL is Brazil’s governing communications authority, which is the equivalent to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States. NCC operates as one of several certification bodies on behalf of ANATEL.
“Certification from the NCC is the approval of ANATEL,” said Armando Acosta, sales director for Latin America. “Recognition for our product as being compliant with Brazil’s standards will enable MDS to expedite the marketing and sales of iNET in all of Brazil.”
The iNET 900 is a long-range, high-speed, secure, industrial, wireless IP/Ethernet and Serial solution. It integrates the functionality of multiple devices into one solution and allows multiple users to run multiple applications and protocols.
