The Bureau of Reclamation invites expressions of interest from small businesses to repair gate equipment at 27.7-MW Minidoka Dam on the Snake River in Idaho. Responses are due Feb. 4.
Minidoka Dam is an 86-foot-tall zoned earthfill structure that began operating in 1909. Reclamation awarded a $21.32 million contract to Record Steel and Construction Inc. in 2011 to construct new spillways and canal headworks. The agency issued a record of decision in 2010 calling for replacement of the structures, which had deteriorated to a point of possible failure.
Reclamation currently invites inquiries from small businesses to perform machine shop work to repair gate equipment at Minidoka. It plans to use responses to determine its procurement options.
A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. R13PS14025 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
