The Southwestern Power Administration seeks bids to replace protective relay and control switchboard panels at two substations and at 90-MW Norfork and 340-MW Bull Shoals hydropower projects in Arkansas. Bids are due Feb. 21.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers took bids in 2009 to replace switchgear and other equipment at Bull Shoals on the White River, Norfork on the North Fork River and the 200-MW Table Rock project on the White River in Missouri. SWPA, one of the Department of Energy’s four power marketing administrations, solicited information in November on a proposal to change the type of cabling used in Bull Shoals powerhouse. The Corps awarded a contract in 2012 to Easky Construction LLC to replace spillway gate chains at Norfork.
In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, SWPA now seeks bids for replacement of protective relay and control switchboard panels at SWPA’s Norfork and Buford substations and at the Corps’ Norfork and Bull Shoals projects. Work is to include replacement of duplex switchboard sections, modifications, addition of cables and materials, furnishing and installing equipment and panel for the station boards and equipment for the RTU cabinet, and disposal of old equipment.
A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. DESOL0006506 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
