The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the deadline for bids to supply a diesel-powered engine-generator to provide emergency power to essential equipment at 120-MW Parker Dam on the Colorado River. Bids now are due Aug. 19.
Reclamation previously called for bids by Aug. 1. The agency said in May it planned to seek bids for a trash rake cleaning system at Parker.
In the current solicitation, Reclamation seeks emergency generator equipment including all controls necessary to automatically start and establish normal speed and voltage if normal station service power is lost. The unit is to operate in conjunction with an automatic transfer switch to transfer from the normal power source to emergency power.
The work is expected to cost between $100,000 and $250,000.
A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R11PS30311 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
