U.S. again extends bidding for impeller replacements, stator rewinds at 314-MW Keys Pump-Generating hydro plant

The Bureau of Reclamation again extended the deadline for bids to supply impeller replacements and stator rewinds at the 314-MW John W. Keys III Pump-Generating plant at Grand Coulee Dam. Bids now are due March 26.

Reclamation previously called for bids by Jan. 6 and Nov. 13.

The Keys plant is part of the 6,809-MW Grand Coulee Dam hydroelectric project in Washington. The plant was hit by fire last year, blamed on a switchgear failure in one of the plant’s six pumps or six pump-generators. Reclamation is planning a modernization program for the facility.

Reclamation now seeks bids for construction services to replace impellers and perform stator rewinds on Units P5 and P6 at Keys. The work is valued at more than $10 million.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. R14PS00719 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids now are due March 26. For information, contact Misty Gates, Contract Specialist, Bureau of Reclamation – PN – Regional Office, 1150 N. Curtis Road, Suite 100, Boise, ID 83706-1234; (1) 208-378-5079; E-mail: [email protected].
