HYDROVISION International committee meets to craft educational programming

HYDROVISION 2024

On Nov. 8, global hydropower industry experts gathered in Denver, Colo., U.S., to choose the strongest educational topics for HYDROVISION International 2024.

The conference planning committee of nearly 45 professionals from all facets of the industry is truly a global group, with 20 members from outside of the U.S. Click here to view the complete committee, made up of power producers, product and service providers, consultants and more.

This intensive meeting set the stage for the programming that will be rolled out in early 2024, including the conference sessions, workshops, megasessions and breakfast roundtables.

HYDROVISION International 2024 will feature five conference tracks:

  • Environmental Issues and Water Management
  • Equipment and Technology (in the Knowledge Hub)
  • Industry Trends and Analysis
  • New Development
  • Operations and Maintenance

In case you are worried anything is missing, dam safety issues will be covered in both the Environmental Issues and Water Management and Equipment and Technology tracks. Issues regarding policies and regulations will be covered in the Industry Trends and Analysis track and could be included in others as well. Energy storage issues, particularly pumped storage, will be covered in the New Development track and could be included elsewhere as well.

Overall, the educational opportunities in 2024 will include six hours of education per track, as well as the long-running Waterpower Hydro Basics course, the Global Symposium for Large Hydropower Plant Operators, H2O training courses for hands-on learning opportunities, technical tours of hydropower projects and research facilities, a dynamic opening keynote session and Utility Executive Roundtable, and much more.

While in Denver, Clarion Events staff (pictured) also visited the Colorado Convention Center and met with host utility Denver Water to find ways to collaborate more closely and ensure the relevance and value of the event to the hydropower industry.

This year, HYDROVISION International is proud to be celebrating 30 years of providing education, connection and resources for the global hydropower industry.
