Canadian utility Manitoba Hydro has extended the deadline for bids to supply switchgear and bus duct for the 695-MW Keeyask hydroelectric project and issued another solicitation seeking excitation systems for the project. Switchgear bids now are due June 2.
Manitoba Hydro previously called for switchgear bids by May 19 for Keeyask, which is being built on the Lower Nelson River in Manitoba.
Manitoba Hydro took bids in April to supply a draft tube crane and an intake monorail crane for Keeyask. It took bids in February to supply generator circuit breakers. The project site was evacuated in January due to a bomb threat.
The utility now seeks bids to design, manufacture and deliver 10 600-volt switchgear lineups and interconnecting bus duct. At the purchaser’s option, the work could include spare parts, special tools and equipment, on-site assistance, reliability-centered maintenance analysis and training of personnel.
