The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the deadline for bids to overhaul three generating units in the Third Power Plant at the 6,809-MW Grand Coulee hydroelectric project. Bids now are due Dec. 7.
Reclamation previously called for bids for the work by Nov. 16. The agency took bids in October to modify crane controls in the Third Power Plant. Gardner Zemke Co. of New Mexico won a $12.3 million contract in October to replace 15 transformers in Grand Coulee’s Left and Right power plants.
The bureau currently seeks bids for overhaul of units G-22, G-23, and G-24 at the Third Power Plant on the Columbia River, about 90 miles west of Spokane, Wash. The work is to include disassembling generators and turbines, overhauling and refurbishing or replacing components, and reassembling the units. The work is valued at more than $10 million.
