The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) seeks bids for consulting services for small hydropower development in Georgia. Bids are due March 17, 2010.
The UNDP-Global Environment Facility is supporting a project in Georgia to promote the use of renewable energy resources, including hydropower, for local energy supply.
The request for proposals includes a technical proposal involving construction of the 5.4-MW Khadori 2 hydro project on the Alazani River downstream from the 24-MW Khadori project, and reconstruction of the 6.5-MW Ritseula project on the Ritseula River; the 450-kW Pshavela project, increasing it to 2 MW; and the 1-MW Achi project. Work also includes a renewable energy finance checklist for small hydropower project feasibility.
