Learn from rehabilitation case studies in our free HYDRO+ training session

HYDRO+ September 2022

With rehabilitation of aging hydroelectric plants being a major business focus for many owners, our September HYDRO+ free virtual training program is very timely and relevant.

On Sept. 14, we will offer a discussion of rehabilitation of hydro facilities from two owner perspectives: Tennessee Valley Authority in the U.S. and Ontario Power Generation in Canada.

Hydro Review and HYDROVISION International host the monthly HYDRO+ webcast to provide access to free training.

Specific session details are:

Operations and Maintenance: Learning from Rehabilitation Case Studies, 11 am CT

Rehabilitation of existing hydroelectric powerplants can be exacting, and rewarding, work. With many hydro powerhouses having been in operation for 50 years or more, rehabilitation is needed and valuable to keep this vital clean energy resource operational, especially in light of market pressures and the need for baseload facilities to support the continued growth of intermittent renewables.

During this session, expert speakers will give case studies of rehab work under way or recently completed, including the desired objectives and outcomes, the scope of work needed and why, best practices applied and lessons learned. If you are planning or in the midst of rehabilitation work, this is a great opportunity to learn from others and get any questions answered that will help support your efforts.

Our expert speakers for this session are:

  • David Rowland, Tennessee Valley Authority
  • Dave Bonell, Ontario Power Generation

The HYDRO+ monthly series of virtual events brings together the hydro community through live content and an engaging virtual experience for those looking for perspective and discussion on current and future issues affecting the hydroelectric power and dams markets.

Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance after the session is concluded.

In addition, all of the dozens of previously recorded HYDRO+ training sessions are available on demand, to be watched any time. So if these sessions don’t fit your training needs, there are plenty of others that do.
