L&S Electric has won a $3.5 million contract to replace governor and control systems at up to four hydroelectric projects in the southeastern United States.
The contract, awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, calls for L&S to design, manufacture, deliver, install and test complete digital governor and control systems, and retrofitted hydroelectric mechanical-to-digital control systems.
The Corps’ Mobile District sought bids for the work in August.
Work will be performed at the 68-MW Jones Bluff project and the 90-MW Millers Ferry project in Alabama. There also would be an option for similar work at the 73.4-MW West Point project in Georgia and the 43.5-MW Jim Woodruff project in Florida.
