The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids from small businesses to paint and rehabilitate four main dam tainter gates at Carlyle Lake Dam on Illinois’ Kaskaskia River. Bids are due Sept. 3.
Completed in 1967, Carlyle Lake Dam, along with Lake Shelbyville Dam, is part of a federal flood control program for the Kaskaskia River.
In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the St. Louis District seeks bids to paint four main dam tainter gates, including environmental protection, disposal of debris, installation of government-furnished cathodic protection, installation and removal of stoplogs, sandblasting, cleaning, and painting. The work is valued at $1 million to $5 million.
