U.S. extends bidding to replace switchgear, electrical equipment at 428-MW Hungry Horse Dam

Hungry Horse Dam

The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the deadline for bids to replace switchgear and related electrical equipment at the 428-MW Hungry Horse hydroelectric project in Montana. Bids now are due Oct. 3.

Reclamation previously called for bids by Sept. 27. It recently awarded a contract to Fabrication Products Inc. to supply two river outlet bulkhead gates and another to Hydro Services LLC for turbine runner cavitation repair at Hungry Horse. The agency took bids in 2010 for gantry crane replacement at the project.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, Reclamation now seeks bids to replace switchgear and an extensive amount of related electrical equipment. The work is valued at $1 million to $5 million.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. R13PS10042 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids now are due Oct. 3. For information, contact Misty Gates, Contract Specialist, Bureau of Reclamation – PN – Regional Office, 1150 N. Curtis Road, Suite 100, Boise, ID 83706; (1) 208-378-5079; E-mail: [email protected].
