Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks bids to supply spares for two overhead bridge cranes at the 3,478-MW Tarbela hydroelectric project on the Indus River. Bids are due August 7.
In March 2011, the U.S. Agency for International Development released US$6.66 million to WAPDA for repair and rehabilitation of the project, which was built in 1974. In addition, WAPDA is pre-qualifying firms for civil construction and electro-mechanical equipment for the 1,410-MW Tarbela 4th Extension project.
WAPDA now seeks bids for supply of spares for two 400-ton overhead bridge cranes, originally manufactured by Noel Germany, on Tarbela Units 11-14.
