The International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) published seven bulletins in 2021 directly related to issues affecting hydropower and dams.

ICOLD says publication of its technical bulletins is the heart of its activity. “On a single precise subject, our experts have met during three to five years and they produced a state of the art with recommendations for engineers from all over the world,” the website says.

The bulletins are:

181: Tailings Dam Design – Technology Update

175: Dam Safety Management: Pre-operational Phases of the Dam Life Cycle

173: Integrated Operation of Hydropower Stations and Reservoirs

162: Environmental Fluid Mechanics

161: Dams and Water Transfers – An Overview

159: Supplement to the Position Paper on Dams and the Environment from 2012

140: Mathematical Modelling of Sediment Transport and Deposition in Reservoirs – Guidelines and Case Studies
