Excelergy launches first retail Internet transaction hub

Reducing the cost and complexity of business-to-business transactions, Excelergy Corp. launched eXACThub, the first Internet hub for the deregulated energy industry that enables secure communications, access to information and transactions among retail energy participants.

With the majority of all energy transactions predicted to take place over the Internet by the middle of the decade, Cambridge, Mass.-based Excelergy said it`s trying to make energy choice simpler and more cost-effective. The energy transaction management part of the deregulated market is estimated to be worth $1 billion per year.

In other news, Excelergy and Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SEBL) announced an alliance to provide a comprehensive and integrated Web-based customer relationship management, enrollment and billing solution for the deregulated retail energy market.
