Ecuador’s investment institute invites expressions of interest from consultants to perform pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and final design of the Olmedo multi-purpose water resources project in Ecuador’s Manabi Province. Responses are due August 23.
Ecuador’s Instituto Nacional de Preinversion (INP) issued similar calls for consultants in 2012 to perform feasibility studies, including hydropower potential, of the Rio Verde multi-purpose project and the Tumbabiro multi-purpose project. The agency also recruited consultants in 2012 to study the 25-MW Ocana 2 hydroelectric project on the Canar River.
INP now seeks studies of the technical, economic, social, and environmental pre-feasibility and feasibility of Olmedo, as well as final designs to implement the project, which is planned to supply drinking water, irrigation, and drainage in the region. The work is expected to require 360 days with a budget of US$2.5 million.
Expression of interest forms may be obtained from the INP Internet site at http://www.preinversion.gob.ec/?page_id=1415.
Expressions of interest are due by 3 p.m. August 23 by mail or e-mail to the address below. INP plans to invite a short-list of firms to submit proposals.
