Day & Zimmermann wins service contract with Nebraska Public Power District

Day & Zimmermann’s engineering, construction & maintenance group won a four-year maintenance and modification services contract from Nebraska Public Power District’s Cooper Nuclear Station in Nebraska. Day & Zimmermann has now been under contract with NPPD for the last 11 years.

“We’re proud to extend our decade-long relationship with NPPD and are committed to continue to reduce outage durations and increase productivity at Cooper,” said Michael P. McMahon, President of Day & Zimmermann ECM. “We’re dedicated to achieving the highest levels of safety performance and continuing to look for innovative ways to provide value.”

NPPD is Nebraska’s largest electric utility, serving 600,000 people with a diverse mix of generating facilities. Cooper Nuclear Station is the largest single-unit facility in the state. It has a capacity of 810 MW and accounts for about 30 percent of NPPD’s generation resources.
