The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for rehabilitation of a 17-ton spillway crane at Selden Dam on Alabama’s Black Warrior River. Site visits must be completed by Feb. 3, with bids due Feb. 15.
Selden Lock and Dam forms Warrior Lake on the Corps’ Black Warrior-Tombigbee Lake System. Although Selden is not a hydropower project, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has issued a preliminary permit to Warrior Hydro LLC to study building the 20-MW A.I. Selden Lock and Dam project (No. 13013) at the dam.
In a set-aside for small business, the Corps seeks rehabilitation of the spillway crane including cleaning, repairing, spot painting, and replacing equipment. The contractor also is to prepare reports and load test the unit.
