Contract Awards and Extensions
United Illuminating Co. Inc. (UI) and CellNet Data Systems Inc. have entered into an agreement for CellNet to provide network meter reading services to approximately 313,000 customers in UI`s 17 town service territory. The network will provide NMR services priced on a per-meter per-month basis to UI for its residential, commercial and industrial customers.
VSI Group Inc. has been awarded a two-year contract to perform “turnkey” transfers of electric and gas services for PECO Energy. This work will be performed in PECO Energy`s retail service territory, that consists of 1.5 million customers. The firm is expected to fulfill 500,000 field orders annually. VSI Group will provide all labor, equipment, training, supervision and support for the office and field functions associated with this work.
Logica has announced a five year, $13 million contract with ScottishPower and Scottish & Southern Energy to provide ongoing support for their joint `1998` deregulation systems. As part of the deal Logica will provide support for a range of joint and company specific applications including such things as meter asset registration, meter data aggregation and data collection.
GE Harris Energy Control Systems Canada Inc. has signed a $5.5 million contract for substation automation equipment with Comision Federal de Electricidad of Mexico City. The GE Harris systems include the GE Harris PowerLink graphical user interface, D200 substation server, D25 bay level controllers and Ethernet local area network. The GE Harris equipment is required to interface to over 35 different substation relays and meters.
