Hunan Xiangjiang Navigation Construction & Development Corp. has extended the deadline for bids to construct a ship lock, dam sluices, and powerhouse for the 90-MW Tugutang hydroelectric project on the Xiang River in China’s Hunan Province. Bids now are due February 20.
Bids previously were due February 1. In September, China’s Wuxikou Integrated Flood Management Construction Development Co. also recruited firms for engineering and construction of a flood management project featuring 30-MW Wuxikou Dam on China’s Changjiang River.
For the current solicitation, the government of China has applied for financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Hunan Xiangjiang Inland Waterway Project, which includes the multi-purpose Tugutang project.
On behalf of Hunan Xiangjiang, China International Tendering Co. now seeks bids for two contract packages for Tugutang:
- XTIC1.1 Works for Ship Lock, including civil works, installation of metal structure and electric equipment, and small upstream and downstream cofferdams;

XTIC1.2 Works for Barrage Sluices and Powerhouse, including civil works, installation of metal structure and electric equipment, cofferdams of Stage 2 and Stage 3, and dismantling of Stage 1 cofferdam.
