Utility Elektroprivreda of Bosnia and Herzegovina plans to seek bids to refurbish the 9.4-MW Una hydroelectric project and to construct the 6.4-MW Una Annex and 20-MW Vranduk hydroelectric projects. Procurement is expected to begin in mid-2013.
As part of its 2012-2020 investment plan Elektroprivreda plans to use up to US$35 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to finance the work. The utility took bids in 2011 to perform grouting to address water leakage in the dams of the 57-MW Grabovica and 210-MW Salakovac hydroelectric projects.
Elektroprivreda said it plans to seek bids for reconstruction of the existing Una hydro plant on the Una River with EBRD financing of up to 9 million euros (US$11.7 million) The work also includes construction of the 6.4-MW Una Annex project on the left bank of the Una. The utility also plans to take bids for construction of the 20-MW Vranduk hydro project with EBRD financing of up to 26 million euros (US$34 million).
