Abide International has won a US$6.7 million contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to retrofit spillway gates at New Hogan Dam on the Calaveras River in central California.
The Corps’ Sacramento District sought bids for the work in August.
According to the tender, Abide International is to retrofit three 36-foot by 38-foot tainter gates that act as spillway control at New Hogan Dam. Work also includes strengthening and bracing gate struts.
New Hogan is a federally owned flood control and water conservation structure. The dam is also the home of the 2.65-MW New Hogan hydropower plant.
