U.S. Government Dept of Energy Budget Passes

March 6, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] With five months now gone from fiscal year FY 2003, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) budget for the year has been approved by Congress and signed by President Bush. Overall, the final Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) budget increased by about 1.4 percent. The Renewable Energy budget increased 9.3 percent above the adjusted FY 2002 budget, to US$422.3 million. The energy efficiency budget decreased by 2 percent relative to the adjusted FY 2002 budget, to US$897.6 million.
