SimSci-Esscor awarded $2.5 million software contract by ABB Lummus Global

BREA, Calif., Jan. 17, 2002 — SimSci-Esscorà¢â€ž-, an operating unit of Invensys plc and a worldwide leader in simulation, optimization and advance process control for the process industries, Thursday announced that it has signed a 5-year contract with ABB Lummus Global Inc. The contract valued at approximately $2.5 million, calls for SimSci-Esscor to supply process and production simulation software and related services.

ABB Lummus Global (www.abb.com/lummus) provides engineering, procurement and construction-related services to the hydrocarbon process industry in more than 70 countries. As a leading licensor of processes such as ethylene, ABB Lummus Global offers a range of services, including process design, project management, engineer training and technical support to clients in the petrochemical, refining, and oil and gas industries.

SimSci-Esscor will supply its PRO/II, PES, Pipephase and Tacite simulation programs and suites for use by ABB Lummus Global engineers worldwide. These software packages enable engineers to design, troubleshoot, optimize and safely operate production and processing facilities at maximum efficiency.
