New PV Inverter Billed as Weatherproof for Military Uses

Calgary, Canada [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Sustainable Energy Technologies has developed and successfully prototyped a 2.5 kW grid-independent inverter that will operate outdoors at full rated power in all weather conditions. The inverter was developed with funding from the US Air Force, under a previously announced subcontract with Electrovaya. It is designed to integrate solar and battery power with conventional diesel generation to provide lower cost, more reliable and more sustainable power under extreme conditions.
