Hydrogen Highway Gets QuestAir Technology

July 14, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] QuestAir Technologies has become the latest company to participate in the CAD$ 18 million (US$ 13.7 million) BC Hydrogen Highway project. They will supply the project with an H-3200 hydrogen purification system, which will convert raw hydrogen from a sodium chlorate plant into high-purity hydrogen fuel, to a vehicle fueling and power generation project in North Vancouver. Six companies have formed a consortium to develop the project. Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) will also be contributing more than CAD$ 5.8 million dollars to the highway project, pending on contract negotiations. The QuestAir project will become one of seven fueling and demonstration depots on the BC Hydrogen Highway. The project consortium is led by Sacrý-Davey Engineering of North Vancouver, and includes BC Hydro subsidiary Powertech Labs, Dynetek Industries, Clean Energy and Westport Innovations. Targeted for full implementation by the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver and Whistler, the BC Hydrogen Highway will be a showcase of sustainable transportation, creating a hydrogen highway that will allow visitors to travel in hydrogen-powered vehicles between Victoria, Vancouver and Whistler.
