Solar PV Provider Now Selling Batteries To Homeowners in the UK and Ireland

Hanwha Q CELLS announced plans to enter the solar rooftop market in the UK and Ireland with two new products: the 330-Wp Q.PEAK DUO-G5 module with half-cut cells, round wires and six bus-bars, which came out earlier this year and the Q.HOME+ ESS-G1, a 4.6 kW/3.6kWh storage  solution for residential customers.

The storage system combines a lithium-ion battery with an integrated inverter and a battery charger and the company said it can be operated and monitored via mobile application and comes with a ten-year product warranty as well as a performance guarantee of at least 80% after ten years.

Due to its high yields, Hanwha said its 330-Wp (Q.PEAK DUO-G5) or 320-Wp (all black Q.PEAK DUO BLK-G5) is well-suited for residential rooftops in Britain in order to maximize energy yields from the often limited roof space.

Homeowners who chose to combine a solar system with an energy storage solution have the ideal combination to sustainably reduce their electricity cost, said the company.

Maengyoon Kim, EU Sales Head at Hanwha Q CELLS said: “Home owners and companies in Great Britain and Ireland now have the chance to largely disconnect from recent rises in electricity prices.”
