RV Power Products’ Controller UL Listed

RV Power Products, a designer and manufacturer of MPPT charge controllers, has received listing by ETL Laboratories to UL1741 and CSA standards for the new Solar Boost 6024H Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) photovoltaic charge controller.

Vista, California – December 20, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] As with earlier Solar Boost 50 and 3048 products, ETL also confirmed compliance to FCC Part 15 Class B, and European CE Label requirements. The Solar Boost 6024H charges 12 or 24 volt batteries at up to 60 amps from 36, 48 or 60 volt PV module arrays and can accept PV open circuit voltage of up to 140VDC. Patented MPPT technology used in the Solar Boost line of charge controllers can increase battery charge current delivered from photovoltaic modules by up to 30 percent or more. “The Solar Boost 6024H is higher voltage higher power version of the very popular Solar Boost 50 MPPT charge controller,” said Richard A. Cullen of RV Power Products. “The Solar Boost 6024H is specially designed to receive high input voltage from a 36, 48 or 60 volt PV module array, and convert down to charge a 12 or 24 volt battery at up to 60 amps with very high power conversion efficiency.” The high input voltage capability of the Solar Boost 6024H can substantially reduce PV module wiring costs, especially when the PV modules must be located an appreciable distance from the charge controller. This capability can also be used to eliminate temperature induced charge voltage reduction in very high ambient temperature installations. As with all Solar Boost charge controllers, patented MPPT technology extracts more power from the PV module and delivers the increased power in the form of higher battery charge current. Solar Boost charge controllers have established a solid reputation for quality, performance and reliability. The Solar Boost SB6024H includes three stage charge control, equalization, series pass Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) charge voltage control, and electronic current limit.
