Software producer Aquamatic Informatics adds BC Hydro to list of clients

VANCOUVER, Canada 5/2/12 (PennWell) — Aquamatic Informatics Inc. has added BC Hydro to the list of clients who use its hydrologic data management and analysis software.

BC Hydro will use Aquamatic’s Aquarius software, which “helps hydropower producers more effectively manage valuable water resources,” the company says.

The Canadian utility will use the software in conjunction with water supply forecasting models that were developed internally, Aquamatic says.

BC Hydro operates 31 hydroelectric plants that provide more than 95% of its total generating capacity. BC Hydro also recently advanced on a US$1.35 billion overhaul of its 126-MW John Hart generating station.

Aquamatic says Northern California Power Agency, Idaho Power and Sarawak Energy Berhad have already started using its software.
