Power industry representatives to discuss power supplier code of ethics Sept. 19

NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 18, 2002 — This Thursday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2002, a group of power industry representatives will be available to preview their scheduled presentations the following day (Friday) to the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Electricity Advisory Board, which is reviewing a variety of complementary initiatives to enhance stakeholder confidence in the competitive energy business.

The briefing will include a discussion of details of a newly created code of ethics for power suppliers and traders.

Among the participants in the briefing, coming on the heels of a turbulent year for the power supply industry, will be representatives from the Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA), the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the National Energy Marketers Association (NEM) and the Committee of Chief Risk Officers (CCRO).

EPSA is the national trade association representing competitive power suppliers, including independent power producers, merchant generators and power marketers. EPSA members provide reliable, competitively priced electricity from environmentally responsible facilities in U.S. and global power markets. EPSA seeks to bring the benefits of competition to all power customers.
