The Hammerhead 586 is a computing system that includes vehicle and office-based docking units, pen interface and communications. Options include wireless modems and an integrated global positioning system receiver. Its case is constructed from a solid block of aircraft aluminum and is fully sealed. The lightweight durable housing not only withstands dirt, moisture and rain, it will also withstand temporary immersion. Effective heat sinking and careful thermal management eliminates any hot spots that can affect long-term performance. The system is based on a 100 MHz 586 processor with up to 32 MB of RAM.
