After 28 long months, power generators, electric utilities and their partners will once again meet to talk shop at the combined POWERGEN and DISTRIBUTECH International in Dallas, Texas starting Monday May 23.

With more than 15,000 power generation and electricity delivery professionals registered for the combined events, attendees can expect networking, education, deal-making and fun over the course of the three-day event.

At 8:30 AM on Monday morning, the combined keynote gets under way with five speakers lined up. In prepared video remarks, Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm is expected to detail some of the initiatives laid out by President Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure law.

Granholm was Governor of Michigan in 2003 when the Northeast Blackout stuck and says that she is no stranger to the intricacies of the electric grid. She’ll likely explain why Biden’s goal of 100% clean electricity by 2035 is good for America and explain how the Department of Energy (DOE) is poised to help the industry achieve that goal.

Earlier in May, DOE announced $2.5 billion available to transmission developers as part of the Transmission Facilitation Program. A dynamic speaker, Granholm’s talk is not one you should miss.

Other Keynote speakers are  Jim Greer, EVP and COO of Oncor; Tom Deitrich, president and CEO f Itron; Braden Cammauf, head of FPT Industrial Brand Naftand; and Rick Perry, former U.S. Secretary of Energy and former Governor of Texas.

The keynote will take place from 8:30AM to 10AM in the Arena on the second level of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
