National Hydropower Association’s Leahey awarded promotion

The National Hydropower Association has promoted Jeff Leahey to the position of Deputy Executive Director, per a recent meeting of the NHA Board of Directors.

Leahey has served with NHA since 2002 — first as Regulatory Affairs Manager, and, since January 2007, as its Director of Government Affairs.

Leahey has been responsible for advancing a number of key NHA policy pieces, including significant pieces of federal legislation that were signed into law by President Barack Obama earlier this year.

NHA said Leahey will continue many of his current duties, while also participating more in NHA’s strategic direction and the organization’s overall management.

“This promotion is well-deserved,” NHA Executive Director Linda Church Ciocci said. “I am pleased that the board acknowledges the great value Jeff brings to NHA and the industry, and I, and my entire talented team here at NHA, look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”

Leahey is an attorney licensed to practice in Massachusetts. He graduated from the Northeastern University School of Law in 1999 after receiving degrees in biology and political science from Washington University in St. Louis.
