David Victor, a leading adviser on energy policy and sustainable development, will deliver the opening keynote address at the HydroVision 2008 Conference, to be held July 14-18 in Sacramento.
Victor is director of the Program on Energy and Sustainable Development at Stanford University’s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. He is to discuss the policy landscape facing hydropower.
Victor also is a consultant to companies, governments, and non-governmental institutions on energy and environmental strategy. Before coming to Stanford, Victor directed the Science and Technology Program at the Council on Foreign Relations, in New York, where he remains an adjunct senior fellow.
More than 2,100 hydropower professionals are expected to participate in the week of activities at the international conference. (HNN 4/4/08) HydroVision also includes an exhibition of more than 250 industry equipment and service providers. An International Hydropower Association forum on greenhouse gas emissions will be held July 15 in conjunction with the conference.
Registration discount offered until May 31
May 31 is the deadline for advanced registration discounts for HydroVision 2008. Conference delegates registering by that date pay a $685 fee, saving $100 off the on-site registration fee.
Multiple registration discounts of $75 for each full conference registration are available to companies purchasing four or more full conference registrations; all registrations must be submitted together to qualify for that discount.
