NRECA names general counsel

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) announced that Rich Meyer, long-time NRECA senior regulatory counsel, has been named the association’s senior vice president and general counsel.

Meyer will head NRECA’s first department of general counsel and manage a staff of 40 professionals, including ten attorneys, focused on legal affairs, governance, compliance, risk management and internal audit functions.

NRECA is the national service organization that represents the nation’s more than 900 private, not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to 42 million people in 47 states.
