The Bureau of Reclamation seeks bids by July 26 to replace excitation systems for the 1,312-MW Glen Canyon Dam power plant on the Colorado River near Page, Ariz.
The June 26 solicitation (No. 06-SI-408148), by BuRec’s Upper Colorado Region Office in Salt Lake City, seeks new static excitation systems for each of eight 165-MW generators. Glen Canyon is one of five power plants in the Colorado River Storage project.
The contractor is to: furnish drawings and data; modify the rotating DC exciter; remove and dispose of voltage regulators, generator field breakers, and associated equipment; furnish and install the new static excitation system, 600-volt busways, power and control wiring conduit, conductors for power circuits, and control and instrumentation wiring; furnish spare parts; and train government personnel in operation and maintenance of the system.
