The Bureau of Reclamation seeks bids for replacement of switchyard relays and installation of a communication system for the Third Power Plant at the 6,809-MW Grand Coulee hydroelectric project. Bids are due Feb. 10.
Reclamation originally expected to issue the solicitation in October. It took bids in October and December for overhaul of three generating units and for crane control modifications in the Third Power Plant.
The agency seeks bids for a construction contract to update the existing relays protecting Third Power Plant circuits and the tie to the 230-kilovolt switchyard. Principal components of the work including replacing seven sets of 500-kV relays, furnishing and installing a fiber-optic communication system for the relays, and furnishing and installing a 10-foot by 12-foot control building.
The work is expected to cost between $1 million and $5 million.
A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R11PS10002 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. Prospective contractors must register in the government’s Central Contractor Registration database, www.ccr.gov.
