Sign up for an educational workshop at HYDROVISION International 2023

HYDROVISION International

In Charlotte, N.C., attendees of HYDROVISION International can take advantage of a variety of programming July 10 to 13, and this includes two workshops, one geared to power producers and the other to product and service providers.

Hydro Generator Fundamentals Workshop

Tuesday, July 11, 8 am-12 pm

This workshop, being organized by the International Generator Technical Community, is intended to provide participants with a broad general understanding of hydropower generators. The program will begin with a discussion of hydro generator anatomy and basic design, then progress through related topics including maintenance and testing, component critical to quality factors, and upgrade/uprate life extension aspects. The workshop will culminate in a generator question and answer period, but participants are encouraged to ask pertinent subject questions and engage in discussion throughout the program.

How to Bid for Hydropower Contracts with Power Producers

Tuesday, July 11, 8:30 am-12 pm

Rehabilitation of existing hydroelectric facilities is a major business opportunity in the industry. With existing assets continuing to age, and hydropower even more important as a baseload resource to support intermittent renewables, it is vital to keep these valuable generating plants operating reliably. Thus, many owners are in the midst of, or planning for, major rehab programs. In addition, there are significant business opportunities around operating and maintaining these facilities.

During this workshop, suppliers seeking to do business with key power producing companies can learn about projects coming up for bid, how to access opportunities, and how to qualify as a potential supplier. Hear presentations on the subject from experts with the Tennessee Valley Authority and the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation, and uncover the information you need to get new business.

It is free to attend either of these workshops, but registration is required. So take a little time now to add a workshop to your HYDROVISION schedule.
