Brazilian officials say testing of the 181-MW Salto Pilao hydropower project on the Itajai-Acu River will begin Oct. 17.
Salto Pilao is controlled by the Cesap consortium, comprised of Brazilian cement maker Cimentos Botorantim, Botorantim Metais, Camargo Correa, and DME Energetica.
