Project manager sought for Ecuador hydroelectric development project

Global recruiting firm EWI Recruitment seeks a project manager for a power and energy consultancy working on a hydroelectric development project in Ecuador.

Ecuador is the site of several potential hydropower projects. In January, state utility Consejo Nacional de Electricidad awarded a contract to Astec Asesoria Tecnica Cia. Ltda. to perform inventory studies of 10 new hydro projects.

Beginning in April, the project manager would oversee the construction project for technical, economic, and contractual aspects. The position must control and coordinate the project from start to completion. The job would pay between US$12,000 and US$18,000 per month depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a record working on such projects, with experience on similar hydropower projects or in the region desirable. The candidate must have strong language skills in Spanish and Portuguese.

Applications may be submitted to Deji Ogunsola, EWI Head of Dams and Hydropower, via the EWI Internet site at http://www.ewirecruitment.com/job/1238/hydropower_project_manager_ecuador_(spanish_and_portuguese).aspx.
